Awesome figure by HOT TOYS! This is the first 1/6 figure that i have gotten and i am glad that i procured it ^^ very nice painting and detailing.. which explains the hefty price tag for it (i paid around 300SGD for this)

Mark V and other movie character figure (JACK SPARROW!?) by HOT TOYS are due for release this year too! I wonder if i will get them too? >.<

This is the other series of Dragonball cards from BANDAI Carddas that i collect. Its very catchy in terms of the card design (the power level guage on the bottom right of the card has somewhat became a signature for the super battles series of cards…i guess it must have been popular with collectors..since the same card design has been put to use also for yu-yu hakusho and rurouni kenshin carddas, to list a few that i know of)

and yes there are indeed a lot of gaps to fill for this set. The thing about this set that makes it extremely difficult to complete is that every set contains hidden/double prisms (which explains why some prism looks a little different/some cards are not even prism cards) one will have to peel the top of the card to expose the other card (yes i guess technically speaking i can classify the bottom layer card as another entity) so if i were to completely see all cards at one time i will have to have 10 prism cards (the 6 and the other 4 hidden prism) 10 prism for each set, multiply it by twenty sets, that’s a good 200 prism.

right now i have only put up two series of dragonball cards on this site…there are actually a lot more of them (there is the PP card series by AMADA which is really good too! but i only have a couple of them…very pathetic so i did not bother putting the scans here) and many other random (good/not so good) ones. =)

p.s. the last card may/may not be considered a super battle card (it was from the last carddas/super battle hybrid set from BANDAI carddas) but i will just leave it as it is since that’s the only card i have from the set =D

Do allow me to talk a little about these dragonball cards. This has to be the cards that started it all for me. I started collecting dragonball cards when i was about 4-5 years old (yes that was a long time ago..i bet i wasn’t even sensible then to tell that these are dragonball cards!) my sister and I used to love those card vending machines (In Singapore then, you will have to put a 20cents coin (20yen for japan), turn the knob-looking thing on the machine by the side or front, depending on where it is, and you will get a card or two out of the machine (I once got 4 cards at a time…but hell it was tough pulling them out from the dispense slit ><))

Thanks to my age then and also my parent’s skepticism towards these cards (i guess they must have thought that these cards are ‘bad toys’ since they are just plain paper cards and its worthless and stuff – i once told them, about a couple of years ago, that these cards are now worth a good sum of money…and they still find it unbelievable =D) i had a hard time collecting them. Its not easy for someone who wasn’t even able to fund himself financially to collect cards yea…that is why i consider myself a late bloomer as a (dragonball) card collector… i was born at the wrong time! lolz…

Anyway..most of the dragonball cards i own now are gotten from sellers from Yahoo! Auction Singapore and Ebay Singapore few years back (only recently have i started getting those very difficult to find ones from Japan) and prices for some of these cards in japan can be fairly crazy at times…

spent quite a sum on these cards and am still unable to complete them.. you can tell that i basically missed out the first half of carddas series >< and my still lacking a few of GT cards… dragonball cards has to be the most challenging series of cards to collect..just look at the new cards that keeps coming out (arcade cards/3D cards etc etc from the different companies) – This is pure consumerism!

BANDAI came up with a carddas complete box set a few years back and it re-ignited my passion (and hope) of completing my carddas series…2 volumes have been released but no news for the 3rd… (and 1 thing to note..vol.2 was a 10000 limited release i believe…so yea…crazy price again!) heres my vol.1… (the hard case in the picture is purely for aesthetic purpose)

Am unable to put too much focus on dragonball cards now since im into more cards and other collectables. Yes they may be incomplete…but im still happy with what i have ^^

p.s. sorry i do not have scans for the norm cards since i basically just pack them in plastic packs and seal them up..and hehe my norm set’s probably a hundred times worse than my prism collection (which is bad enough…) so i think i will leave them out.
